One of the programs Charismata has been known for is the Adopt a Family for Christmas Program. During the second week of December, children and families receive gifts from generous members in our community.
Sinai-Grace Hospital Environmental Department adopted two families from our Charismata Homes program. Ms. Carter told her family that they wouldn’t have a Christmas this year. Ms. Carter, is a mother with three children with financial challenges. The Carter family couldn’t believe when they saw all the presents that were donated to her children. She had tears of joy in her eyes as we packed her car with gifts donated for her family. Charismata Homes and the Carter family like to give special thanks to Mr. Richard Kilgo, LC Bracey, and his staff for making this family’s Christmas beautiful.
The Caleb family was also adopted for Christmas. This young lady is a mother of two twin girls and is currently expecting her third child. Sinai-Grace Environmental Department also adopted her family for Christmas. This courageous young lady knew she couldn’t take care of her babies herself, especially when she had no source of income and no support system other then help from Charismata Homes program. Ms. Caleb loves her girls and would do anything to see them safe and properly cared for. When the young lady told me, “Mrs. Henry, I have no money to buy my girls gifts for Christmas and I feel less than a mother”, I was speechless! I got a call next day from Richard Kilgo, asking if I had another family to adopt for Christmas. Richard and his staff did an outstanding job donating gifts for mom and her children. The Caleb family was Blessed with a lot of toys and gift cards. The Caleb family give special thanks to Richard and his staff.
